Over $1.6m in lost production avoided by our investigation

Critical defect in a transition joint

After a major failure, a Major Cement Plant engaged machinemonitor® to assess the condition of its main 33kV feeders.

machinemonitor® employed online partial discharge screening techniques, detecting a potential fault. After critical analysis and assessment our experts revealed a critical defect in a transition PILC/XLPE joint that had only recently been installed.

machinemonitor® provided a temporary monitoring solution to monitor the incoming cable for 3 months until a scheduled outage occurred. This saved the Cement Plant $1.6M in lost production by avoiding an unplanned outage.
