Major Energy Provider avoids $5M in unplanned downtime

machinemonitor® assisted with the procurement and commissioning of a state-of-the-art conditioning system for a high voltage generator owned and operator by a major Australian energy provider.

As part of this service we monitored the integrity of the stator and rotor insulation systems with both on-line and off-line testing.

During the normal operation of the generator, our online monitoring system identified a shorted turn in the rotor, which assisted our customer in optimising the management of the machine through the planned outage to conduct repairs.

This initiative saved an estimated $5 million by avoiding on unplanned downtime.
