About Our Company

machinemonitor® is a highly respected Electrical Engineering Consultancy firm that offer clients support in the life cycle management of high voltage (HV) electrical assets including: Motors, Generators, Switchgear, Cables, Transformers and Auxiliary equipment.

We are seeking an experienced Electrical Engineer to join our team in our Brisbane office. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in electrical engineering, with experience in design and HV testing.  In this role, you will be responsible for testing electrical systems and assets, as well as troubleshooting and resolving any issues that arise.

This role IS for you if…

You want to be working in some of the largest highest profile mines, oil/gas and manufacturing companies in Australia and you will be liaising directly with very senior members of the staff of these international companies.  Whilst performing your duties you will be working within small teams either led by yourself or by one of our Senior Electrical Engineers, depending upon the services we are performing.

Role Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related field

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in electrical engineering

  • A Member of the Australian Institute of Engineers

  • Experience in HV testing and electrical condition monitoring

  • Experience using industry-standard HV testing equipment

  • Preference to experience in preventive, predictive and corrective maintenance techniques for electrical assets

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

  • Experience with technical writing and documentation

  • Knowledge of industry standards and regulations

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

  • Ability to work independently and in a team environment

  • Experience with project management and budgeting

  • Strong understanding of electrical safety and risk assessment

  • Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines

  • Ability to mentor and train junior engineers

  • Collaborate with other engineers and professionals to ensure that projects are completed on time and   within budget

  • Provide technical support and guidance to other team members

  • Stay up-to-date with the latest industry trends and technologies

  • Communicate with personnel to provide a consistent, reliable and high level of service

  • Prepared to travel to customer sites to perform testing

  • Perform calculations and analysis for electrical testing

  • Create and maintain technical documentation for end to end projects
