machinemonitor® CEO wins national health and safety award

As one of Australia’s leading specialist electrical engineering firms in the field of high voltage electrical asset management and condition monitoring, machinemonitor® is fully committed to the health and safety of our team.

Under the leadership and guidance of our former CEO, Andriy Kotykhov, and supported by our QHSE team and our staff, we are proud of our on-going commitment to safety in our operations.

We are honoured by his recognition from the Australian Institute of Health & Safety (AISH) as a winner of the Australian Workplace Health & Safety Awards 2023 in the under 1000 employee category.

“I’m incredibly proud of what our business has achieved,” said Andriy.

“My commitment to health and safety, both physical and mental, stems in part to my own experiences as a field engineer for over 20 years,” he said.

“My experiences, traveling to power, mine and manufacturing sites all over Australia has greatly influenced my continuing focus on improving our safety strategy as a CEO,” he concluded.

At the heart of Andriy's leadership philosophy is a steadfast commitment to safety. When he became CEO of machinemonitor® in early 2020, he oversaw a number of specific initiatives to further develop the company's safety culture.

His initiatives included a comprehensive review of our WHSE policies, the introduction of an actively enforced Stop to Work Authority, and the implementation of the Be-Heard App - a confidential platform for employees to express concerns and seek help.

Andriy's dedication to employee well-being extends beyond physical safety. He places a strong emphasis on mental health and personally engages with employees to support their overall wellbeing and provide support when needed.

One of Andriy's greatest strengths as a safety leader is his ability to foster strong relationships within the organisation. He builds trust and encourages employees to actively participate in the development and improvement of safety procedures. His hands-on involvement in the technical aspects of the business further reinforces the organisation's dedication to safety.

machinemonitor®'s exemplary safety practices recently earned them the Best WHS Management System (SME) at the Hunter Safety Awards.

The award is a testament to Andriy's vision and unwavering dedication to the protection of employees and clients.

Andriy's proactive approach to safety has had a significant impact on potential accidents and injuries. His initiatives and collaborative approach have created a safety culture where employees feel empowered to contribute and raise concerns.
